Biology Organization of Graduate Students (BOGS)

The purpose of our society, BOGS, is to build a supportive and connected community for graduate students within the biology department by fostering connections through social events, peer support initiatives, and collaborative opportunities. Our society also plays an active role in advocating for the needs of graduate students, including fair funding, access to resources and travel grants, and clear communication with departmental leadership. BOGS also represents the concerns of biology graduate students on departmental committees, at departmental meetings (in accordance with agreements between the Department of Biology and BOGS), and anywhere else that it might be necessary. By creating spaces for students to share concerns and celebrate achievements, we aim to strengthen both our academic and social environment, ensuring that Dalhousie’s biology graduate students feel heard, valued, and empowered.
