Dalhousie Aerospace Design Team (Dal Aero)

Dalhousie Aerospace Design Team (Dal Aero) is a student-led design team dedicated to providing hands-on aerospace experience to students at Dalhousie University. Our mission is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering by designing, manufacturing, testing, and flying aircraft for engineering competitions. Through participation in projects such as SAE Aero Design, members gain practical experience in aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, avionics, manufacturing, project management, and technical communication while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. As Atlantic Canada's first university aerospace design team, Dal Aero provides students with opportunities to develop technical, professional, and leadership skills beyond the classroom. Members contribute through specialized sub-teams, participate in workshops and industry networking opportunities, and collaborate on the design and construction of aerospace systems. The team promotes innovation, experiential learning, and teamwork while representing Dalhousie University at engineering competitions and aerospace-related events.
