Dalhousie Black Medical Student Association (DBMSA)

The Dalhousie Black Medical Students’ Association is a Black student group working to support medical students in their training, and participate in community outreach and political advocacy. Mission: The Black Medical Students’ Association aims to support the growth and vitality of the black medical student cohort at Dalhousie Medical School. This includes supporting pre-medical students, providing access to opportunities and community for current Black medical students, and collaborating with the broader medical student body to reinforce culturally safe social and learning environments. Strategy: The Black Medical Students’ Association has three pillars under which our initiatives and collaborations are prioritized: (1) Medical Student Support, (2) Community Outreach, (3) Political Advocacy. Vision: To generate a robust community of Black physicians and allies empowered and informed to improve the health outcomes of the broader Black community.
