Dalhousie Engineering Gearheads

Engineering

Dalhousie Engineering Gearheads are a passionate group of Dalhousie engineering students who strive to improve their community through volunteering, fostering school spirit, connecting students with on-campus opportunities, and engaging in community outreach. The Gearheads' primary year-round program is known the Pinions program. A “Pinion” through Gearheads is a volunteer role accessible to all Dalhousie Engineers — an easy way for an engineering student to collect soft skills, connect with opportunity/other engineering students, and have a good time at school events through promotion and participation. Once one is a Pinion, activities can be found on the Gearheads Pinion Distribution Board, found on a global Microsoft Teams channel. Activities and volunteer opportunities are posted by Gearheads Team Members, engineering faculty members such as Karyn Hemsworth, DUES (Dalhousie Undergraduate Engineering Society) event opportunities, community outreach listings posted by Gearheads Team members (Phoenix Youth Shelter, HRCE Summer Outreach), and events and other Dal Events.
