Dalhousie International Business Society (DIBS)

Dalhousie International Business Society (DIBS)’s mission is to foster a collaborative and encouraging environment for International Business majors, Commerce and Management students as well as all (incoming and outgoing) exchange students interested in international business. Our aim is to help students understand what International Business is, if it is the right major for them, and provide information on potential career paths. We plan to raise awareness and understanding around global experiences, while providing students with available resources. Additionally, we will host events to enable networking, education, and that spark excitement while building our community. Students are involved with DIBS through general member meetings, case competitions, networking events and collaborations with other Dalhousie societies, such as the Dalhousie Commerce Society. We help raise funds for Movember movements and other causes, and plan to host fun events that have a positive impact on the Dal community. Our overarching goal is to create a community of like-minded students who want to learn more about international business and international experiences. We’d also like to help students learn about the process of exchange and help prepare them for their journeys abroad. Our society is important because International Business is a lesser known business major with specific requirements. Due to this, we aim to support and give students additional guidance around international business. DIBS is a space for people to learn, grow and discover what a career in international business could look like; although targeted at business students, DIBS is open to everyone.
