Dalhousie Investment Society

The Dalhousie Investment Society is a student-run finance society for students. Dalis helps Dalhousie students build real knowledge, confidence, and experience in finance. Our group is open to anyone, regardless of year, program, or prior finance experience. DALIS gives students the chance to learn through hands-on work, networking, workshops, stock pitches, market discussions, and career preparation. What makes DALIS unique is that we operate a simulated hedge fund, where students can begin in junior analyst roles and progress into more senior positions as they develop their skills. This structure allows younger students to learn finance at a higher level while being mentored by more experienced members. DALIS is important because it helps students understand the finance industry, prepare for co-op and full-time roles, and build strong professional networks. Our goal for the upcoming year is to continue raising the reputation of Dalhousie students in the Canadian finance and co-op space by showcasing their hard work, knowledge, and ability to compete with students from larger finance programs
