Dalhousie Jordanian Society

Purpose of the Society: • The purpose of this society is to celebrate and share Jordanian culture and heritage with the Dalhousie community. Since there is no existing Jordanian society at Dal, our group aims to promote a sense of community among Jordanians, and anyone interested in learning about Jordan. By promoting cultural exchange, we hope to enrich the campus diversity and create a connection across different backgrounds. Activities and Plans: • We plan to organize activities throughout the academic year, especially on significant Jordanian occasions such as Jordan’s Independence Day. These events may include interactive presentations on Jordanian history and culture, heritage, trivia nights, bring Jordanian snacks and meals, and possibly dance activities that is rooted in Jordanian traditions. We will also try to collaborate with other cultural societies to encourage cultural exchange. What makes this society special: • What makes our society special is that it is that there is no Jordanian society currently active in Dal, so this society would be a new addition to Dal societies. And We welcome anyone, students, faculty, staff, and local community members, regardless of cultural background.
