Culture and Religion
We believe that the Dalhousie campus currently lacks a platform that truly represents and supports brown girls on campus, leaving many feeling disconnected from a community that understands their culture and traditions. After speaking with fellow students, friends, and mutuals, it became clear that this sentiment is widely shared, which pushed us to create a new society that serves as a home for brown girls away from home. Our society aims to empower women by building a community that celebrates South Asian heritage and culture while fostering inclusivity for girls from all cultural backgrounds. Through events centered on womanhood, chai, shared experiences, and creative expressions like blogs, we aspire to create long-lasting memories and provide a supportive space for students. Our ultimate goal is to uplift women on campus, empower them to embrace their identities, and ensure that no brown girl feels overlooked or unsupported during her time at Dalhousie.
