Dalhousie Recreation Association

The Dalhousie Recreation Association represents the students of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation. We organize events to connect students, liase with Rec and Leisure faculty regarding student concerns, we have also put forward merchandise orders. We are a sub society of parter the larger society of SAHHPER and have played a role in planning and executing larger events such as the annual SAHHPER gala. Next year, we are hoping to run fundraising initiatives to contribute toward a few "scholarships" for students in need to go towards conference attendance. We are also hoping to partner with Dalhousie Rec-O to contribute to collaboration between our initiatives to promote more student engagement within recreation. Other ideas we have are to create a podcast where we could interview professionals in the profession who can speak to their experiences in the field and allow students to send in questions to ask the speakers. We currently have 6 active members of the society but have received support from other non-members for us to reratify.
