Dalhousie SHINe (Skin Health Innovation Network) (DSHINe)

Dalhousie SHINe (Skin Health Innovation Network) is a student-led chapter of Save Your Skin Foundation's SHINe Youth Advisory Board. SHINe @ Dalhousie's mission is to raise awareness of skin cancer, promote prevention, and fundraise. Our goal is to enhance skin health education and provide affordable access to sun protection for Dalhousie students, faculty, staff, and members of the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). This includes sun-care resources, melanoma screening services, and more sun safety education for Dalhousie students, faculty, and staff, as well as for members of the broader Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) community. As the first SHINe chapter in the Maritimes, we aim to broaden our initiatives throughout the region and collaborate with neighbouring universities. Our mission is to strengthen skin cancer awareness and expand fundraising efforts across the Maritimes to promote preventive medical efforts against cancer.
