The Dalhousie SOSA society has as its goal to foster a sense of community between SOSA students and other students interested in Sociology and Social Anthropology by hosting events that can help you meet new people as well as deepen your appreciation of SOSA. Activities such as study nights, arts and crafts and muffin Mondays as well as Pints with the profs, all events that help to strengthen the link between students and the field of Sociology and Social Anthropology. Through these activities, students will be able to meet with other students, discuss the worlds of Sociology and Social Anthropology, and make new friends on campus who share their interest. This society is also going to enable students and professors to have better communication and be able to organize activities in coordination with Dalhousie's own sociologists and social anthropologists. More importantly, the Dalhousie SOSA society is important due to our program's relatively small size compared with the bigger more competitive programs on campus. By having a society, SOSA students and those interested in Sociology and Social Anthropology will be able to feel apart of a community and not like outsiders in a university known for other programs.
