Dalhousie Women's Lacrosse Team

Sports and Athletics

The Dalhousie Women's Lacrosse Team is an athletic club focused on women's field lacrosse. As part of the Maritime Women's University Field Lacrosse League (MWUFLL), this team engages in high-level competition against other university lacrosse clubs across Nova Scotia. We practice three times a week, as well as engage in fitness training once a week in the high performance room at the Dalplex. This team has won gold at the MWUFLL championship for years upon years in a row. Although we are focused on lacrosse, the Dal Women's lacrosse team is the root of countless valuable friendships among students. For first year students who join the team, it is an opportunity to become more grounded in the Dalhousie community. Beyond the field, the team hosts gatherings and events, further deepening the connections between our players. This year, we are looking to engage the local community, hosting fundraisers and volunteering. For all players, this team is an outlet. When things are stressful, the lacrosse field is always open for our players to get their energy out, and teammates are always there to lend a helping hand. Players stay active when they otherwise may not, and our schedule helps folks form a routine. The Dalhousie Women's Lacrosse Team is important to the university, as it brings consistent victories under Dalhousie's name. More than that though, it is a focal point of tight-knit community for women at Dalhousie. Staying healthy and engaged amidst the pressures that student life presents is essential in maintaining a healthy balance as a student. Isolation can be a large factor in the university experience, but for players on this team, it is squashed immediately. As we become increasingly involved in the Halifax community, our significance will only grow in magnitude and in range.
