DalKing's Swing Dance Society (DKS)

DalKing's Swing is a dance society primarily focusing on Lindy hop, Blues, and Balboa. We offer dance lessons to members of the Dal student body as well to the larger community of Halifax. We hold social dances every week as well as larger multi-province dance weekends that attract dancers from all around Canada. We provide safe spaces for dancers to learn and support a beautiful dance form, meet new people, and build community. We collaborate frequently with other dance societies in the community. We also collaborate with local musicians in the HRM to create artistic relationships that we continue to grow into events that serve the entire city of Halifax. We are an important part of the community in Halifax, providing third spaces for Dal students and the larger community. Certain returning members of DKS have been dancing with us since their first years of University.
