GirlUP Dalhousie

The purpose of Girl Up, a program of the United Nations Foundation, is to empower girls and young women to become leaders and advocates for gender equality. It provides the tools, resources, and platform needed to drive social change and address issues affecting girls globally. The UN Foundation launched GirlUp in 2010 as a project to aid UN organizations that concentrate on adolescent girls and young women. GirlUp seeks to raise funds that go towards UN programmes that provide teenage girls/ young women in underdeveloped countries with an equal opportunity to receive an education, good health, and social and economic prospects, and a life free from violence. Overall, Girl Up’s purpose is to inspire and equip girls to lead with confidence, stand up for their rights, and work together to build a more equal and inclusive world.
