The Information Science Student Association supports students in the Master of Information program at Dalhousie University by representing and responding to student interests. ISSA aims to create a welcoming, supportive environment for new and returning students to collaborate, connect, and participate in their school experience. This includes hosting social events like movie nights and book clubs, fostering academic support through professional panels and sitting on faculty meetings, representing students to the faculty of information management and dalhousie university, sharing information on relevant external events and organizations, and connecting students to professors and professionals in the field of information management. ISSA further commits itself to prioritizing issues of equity, diversity, accessibility, anti-racism, and decolonization within the student body and the University, as well as in the field of Information Management. Members continue to advocate for these values in curriculum, scholarships, and social events.
