Medical Sciences Society of Dalhousie University (MSSDU)

The Medical Sciences Society of Dalhousie University (MSSDU) aims to enrich the experience of Medical Sciences students by serving as a collective voice for members of the program. Working together with our executive team and council through the planning of events and the promotion of opportunities and resources, the MSSDU seeks to enhance the experience for Medical Sciences students while fostering a sense of community through its programming. The MSSDU additionally seeks to work cooperatively while reflecting the common goals of both the Medical Sciences student body and its faculty, and advocating on behalf of students of the Medical Sciences program. Some of our focuses from the MSSDU team throughout the year include career, developmental, and preparatory opportunities such as MMI sessions for professional schools, social and community building events such as our annual Jingle Mingle and MSSDU Gala, as well as our Peer Mentorship program which acts as a support pillar for newer students in the Medical Sciences program. We additionally plan events and programming focused on the individual year cohorts for Medical Sciences to allow the students the opportunity to build connections with their fellow cohorts. Our ultimate goal is to both support and elevate Medical Sciences students during their journey at Dalhousie, and to help them to reach their long-term goals.
