Student Association of Health Sciences (SAHS)

The SAHS works as a communication and event body for the students in the health sciences program at Dalhousie. We organize and run the orientation of the first year students to help acclimate them to the campus, the student space, the council members and the faculty. We hold and fund many events, both discipline specific and for the entire school for the year, organize and run the gala. We serve as a voice for the student body to convey messages to the faculty and director of the school. Students members are involved in the association by partaking in the events hosted by the association, such as an annual boat cruise or study sessions. We also hold a meeting open to all members to discuss event planning, concerns and initiatives the student body has for society. The association is important in teaching students that partake in the council leadership, organization and collaboration skills that can translate into the work space. It also serves to promote and foster relationships between all members of the association in an academic and study life environment, building unity in the associations students.
