Unconscious Collective Vocal Ensemble

The Unconscious Collective Vocal Ensemble (UCVE) is a student-run group which began in 2011 as a complement to other choral programs on campus. We to provide a safe space for people to explore their voices and develop their musical skills through fun and eclectic repertoire. The UCVE prides itself on being an inclusive environment, and welcomes the participation of singers of all ability levels. We do not require membership dues, and we are not affiliated with any particular faculty or department, although auditions are required. We plan to hold 2-4 concerts per year depending on whether any community engagements/collaborations are scheduled. Furthermore, all UCVE concerts are availed for the student body and faculty of Dalhousie, ad admission by donation, with donations going to a local charity. Other smaller events for the choir and the choir community are also held (e.g. open mics, team-building events, etc.).
